Misunderstood"를 이국적인 라틴댄스풍으로 리메이크한 동명 타
이틀 앨범[Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood]였다.
이 앨범은 전세계적으로 폭발적인 인기를 누리면서 전세계에서
48개의 골드와 42개의 플래티넘을 기록하였다. 또한 이 앨범은
Bee Gees의 "Saturday Night Fever"와 Michael Jackson
의 "Thriller"가 발표되기 전까지 최단기간 1천 5백만장 음반
판매라는 기록을 가지고 있었다.
14분 20초에 이르는 긴 디스코곡인 "Don't Let Me Be
Misunderstood"는 1977년 빌보드 탑 40에 15위까지 랭크되기도
하였다.
고메즈는 "You're My Everything"을 직접 작곡하며 송라이터로
서의 면모를 보이기도 했다
