Mayte Matee와 Maria Mendiolo로 구성된 여성 듀오로서
1977년 스페인에서 처음 데뷔하였다고 한다.
그들의 첫 앨범이 된 'Yes Sir, I Can Boogie' 앨범을
BMG 레코드를 통해 발매하게 된다.
지금까지도 최고의 히트곡이 된 이 앨범의
Yes Sir, I Can Boogie라는 곡은 Baccara하면
떠오르는 최고의 상품이 되었다.
유로댄스 스타일이라는 당시의 음악적 흐름과
맥을 같이 하면서도 가장 진보
적인 스타일의 음악을 보여주었다.
그 후, 1983년 오리지널 Baccara는 변신을
시도하게 되는데 1988년 발매된 Fantasy Boy는
전 유럽을 휩쓰는 일대 사건이 되었다.
이때 재탄생된 Fantasy Boy는 New Baccara를
팬들의 뇌리에 기억 시키기에 충분했다.
London Boys와 대별되는 강렬한 비트와 여성적인 화음은
일약 스타로 자리매김하는데 공헌하였다
